The Omaha North Girls placed 4th and the Boys placed 5th out of eight teams at the 13th annual Skutt SkyHawk Swimming and Diving Invitational on Saturday, January 12.
Liam Murray placed 2nd in both the 50 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle, events he now has automatic qualifying times for the state championships. Vienne Kemper won the 200 Individual Medley and placed 2nd in the 100 Butterfly, events for which she had previously earned automatic state qualifying times.
Other Vikings placing in the top six were Ann Fox (4th, 50 Freestyle; 5th, 100 Freestyle), Julienne Kemper (3rd, 200 Freestyle; 6th, 100 Breaststroke), Teresa Gibbons (4th, 100 Butterfly; 6th, 100 Backstroke), Lauren Sitzman (5th, 100 Backstroke), and Davion Scott-Bell (6th, 100 Breaststroke).
Several Viking swimmers posted significantly improved times during the meet; Seamus Cavanaugh, Darden Tetley, Richard Throckmorton, and Jon Mark Stanton dropped huge chunks of time. Eleven other swimmers posted season-best times in at least one event.

The week ahead for the Vikings includes a dual against Omaha Northwest on Thursday, January 17 at Morton Middle School and the Council Bluffs Lewis Central Titan Invitational on Saturday, January 19.
