The Vikings competed against many of the state’s top high school swim teams on Saturday, December 15 at the 34th annual Lincoln Southeast Invitational. The girls finished in 13th place while the boys finished 15th place out of the 18 teams from across Nebraska. The meet featured 8 of the state’s pre-season Top 10 boys teams and 7 of girls’ Top 10 teams.
In the 200 Medley Relay, Dominick Bartles, Davion Scott-Bell, Nate Schlader and Liam Murray achieved the boys’ first state secondary qualifying time. In the individual 50 Freestyle, Liam Murray posted his first state automatic qualifying time and finished 8th overall. He placed 10th in the 100 Freestyle.
The 400 Freestyle Relay team of Vienne Kemper, Julienne Kemper, Lauren Sitzman and Ann Fox earned the girls’ first cut time for a relay. Vienne Kemper earned 3rd place in the 200 Individual Medley with her second automatic state qualifying time of the season. In the 50 Freestyle, Ann Fox raced to her first secondary cut this season.
Vikings posting career-best splits in relays were Richard Throckmorton, Connor Harrison, Isabel Kolb and Teresa Gibbons.
The Vikings close out their December competition schedule by hosting Omaha Central for a dual meet at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 18.
