The Omaha North Vikings Boys placed 4th out of 10 teams on Wednesday, December 11, and the girls placed 4th out of 9 teams on Saturday, December 14, at the 2019 Omaha Bryan Invitational.

On Wednesday night, Nate Schlader earned his first secondary cut of the season, finishing 4th in the 50 Freestyle.  He also finished 4th in the 100 Freestyle.  Vikings paired to place 3rd and 4th in two different events: Ben Mills and Caiden Williams in the 500 Freestyle and Davion Scott-Bell and Richard Throckmorton in the 100 Breaststroke.  Saturday morning, Lauren Sitzman and Teresa Gibbons placed 2nd and 3rd in the 100 Backstroke. Sitzman finished 3rd in the 100 Freestyle and AJ Fox earned her season-best in the 50 Freestyle, placing 5th.

While not medaling, there were swimmers posting times significantly improved since last competing in certain events at the end of last season:  Darden Tetley dropped his 200 Freestyle time by 12 seconds and his 100 Freestyle time by 7 seconds.  Trevor Gibbons 50 Freestyle improved by 5 seconds.  Ninth graders Vivian Landis and Tina Mora both dropped over 3 seconds in their 50 Freestyle times from the previous week.

Other swimmers scoring points for the Vikings were Eric Manuel, Karson Swartzbaugh, Yasmine Alhejaj, Isabel Kolb, and Maceyn Sieborg.

The Vikings return to competition on Tuesday, December 18, with boys and girls dual meets at Bellevue East High School.  The Vikings will travel to Lincoln for the Southeast Knight Invite on Saturday, December 22.
