After opening the season with two dual meet victories, the Vikings were downed by host Omaha Burke on Tuesday, December 19, 101-61 (boys) and 111-53 (girls). The Vikings still posted some season-best and career-best times in individual events. Liam Murray (100 Free) and Dominick Bartels (200 Free) won individual events, while the boys’ 200 and 400 Free Relays placed first. The girls were paced by wins by Vienne Kemper (200 IM and 100 Butterfly) and Anna Kay Sitzman (500 Freestyle). Big drops were achieved in the 200 Freestyle by Gabby Push and Kylie Hughes, and in the 50 Freestyle by Natalie Hausman, Ann Fox, and Sam Hausman.
After completing semester finals in the classroom and observing the NSAA-mandated 5 day moratorium from practice and competition, the Vikings will return to the pool and weight room to prepare to compete at the BTCMR Relays on Saturday, January 6. The first event starts at 10:00 a.m. at Brownell-Talbot’s Theisen Pool.
