The Omaha North Vikings Boys placed 5th out of 10 teams on Wednesday, December 6, and the girls placed 3rd out of 10 teams on Saturday, December 9, at the 2017 Omaha Bryan Invitational.
The girls earned a state secondary qualifying time in the 400 freestyle relay while finishing 2nd in the event. The 200 Medley Relay also finished in 2nd place. Vienne Kemper won the 100 breast stroke while earning a state secondary qualifying time in her 4th individual event of the young season. Other top 10 finishers were Ann Fox (4th, 50 freestyle), Natalie Hausman (6th, 50 freestyle), Shylee Armstrong (9th, 50 freestyle), Julienne Kemper (6th, 100 freestyle), Anna Kay Sitzman (4th, 100 backstroke), Teresa Gibbons (8th, 100 backstroke), and Gabby Push (10th, 100 backstroke).
Liam Murray finished 2nd in the 100 freestyle, just 0.02 seconds from 1st place. Murray placed 44h in the 100 backstroke while earning a state secondary qualifying time in a third individual event this season. Nick Hausman (10th, 100 freestyle), Lee Yoder (8th, 200 freestyle and 500 freestyle) and Dominick Bartels (10th in 200 freestyle) placed in the top 10 in individual events.
The Vikings return to the pool Tuesday, December 12, for boys and girls dual meets against Omaha Benson. The duals will start at 4:40 p.m. at Monroe Middle School.
